Diary History

Shortly after I arrived at Balladonia Hotel-Motel in May 2001, I started a Daily Diary. This was intended to be a cheap way to keep in touch with family and friends.

I expected get get about a dozen visits "hits" a day. Instead, the peter991-ONLINE™ Daily Diary became an international success, with over 2,500 "hits" a day! Most of these come from impoverished Latin Americans, who would trek down from their mountain-side homes to read my Diary and improve their English.

When I was sick, whole villages light candles and prayed for me. I was deeply touched by their emails. Many other visits to my pages come from teachers in Thailand, Korea and China who use my Diary to help their students improve their English. For this reason, my Diary is written in simple conversational English.

In May 2010, this website received over 17 million hits (an average of over 564,000 hits a day). Back in May 2004, I received 1.8 million hits when I became the SETI 'User of the Day.'

While My Diary has a gap in it from February 2003 until the end of October 2003, I hoped to be able to bring you daily updates from then on. Unfortunately, due to censorship restrictions imposed on Thursday, 16 March 2006, I was not able to update my Diary. I left Madura shortly afterwards and my 'hell' will live on the Internet for ever! (There is karma - the person responsible died shortly afterwards).

peter991-ONLINE is Australia's most successful Daily Diary. It is currently receiving on average, in excess of 600,000 unique visits per day, every day of the year.
